At 6 pm today (Saturday March 16 2019) Catalans will gather in the centre of Madrid for an unprecedented protest demonstration.
They will have arrived there in 500 coaches, 15 special TGV trains, and countless cars, and will be joined by thousands of other people. Over 100 more coaches will have departed from different parts of Spain, such as Euskadi, Galicia, Aragon, Andalusia and Valencia.

As has always been the case at such demonstrations, in Barcelona, throughout Catalonia, in Brussels, Geneva and hundreds of others cities countless times, these demonstrations are always peaceful: they will not leave a single scrap of paper or plastic bottle behind!

The Spanish government put the number of demonstrators at 18,000 (the coaches weren't half empty!) and the organizers at 120,000. El País apparently put the figure at 55,000.
