In defence of civil rights in Catalonia and Spain

The following statement was submitted by two members of the teaching staff, who asked for its inclusion as a point on the agenda of the Governing Council on April 12 2018 as laid down in article 7.2 of the Regulations of the Governing Body, and was approved having been put to the vote .

The Governing Body of the UPC declares:

· That the recovery of the legal security of all Catalans and Spaniards is essential, and the arbitrary nature of the decisions of the public authorities is incompatible with the rule of law.

· That it is essential that the fundamental rights of expression, assembly, demonstration and political participation be respected.

· That the recovery of coexistence is only possible by recovering democratic usage and by resolving political problems in the political sphere.

En defensa dels drets civils a Catalunya i a Espanya

Sotmesa a votació, ha estat aprovada la declaració següent, presentada per dos membres del professorat, que van sol·licitar-ne la inclusió com a punt de l’ordre del dia del Consell de Govern del 12/04/18, atenent al que preveu l'article 7.2 del Reglament del Consell de Govern.

El Consell de Govern de la UPC declara:

· Que la recuperació de la seguretat jurídica de tots els catalans i espanyols és imprescindible i l’arbitrarietat de les decisions dels poders públics és incompatible amb l’estat de dret.

· Que és imprescindible que es respectin els drets fonamentals d’expressió, reunió, manifestació i participació política.

· Que la recuperació de la convivència només és possible recuperant els usos democràtics i resolent en l’àmbit polític els problemes polítics.
