EL TC, POR UNANIMIDAD, SUSPENDE CAUTELARMENTE LA INVESTIDURA DE PUIGDEMONT SALVO SI ACUDE EN PERSONA AL PARLAMENTO PREVIAAUTORIZACIÓN JUDICIAL.

El Tribunal Constiticional ha acordado por unanimidad la suspensión cautelar las resoluciones del Presidente y de la Mesa del Parlamento de Cataluña que permitan la investidura de Caries Puigdemont como Presidente de la Generalitat de Cataluña.

Los Magistrados consideran imprescindible que Puigdemont acuda personalmente a la Càmara y que para ello obtenga previamente la autorización del juez que tramite el proceso penal en el que ha acordado su detención; suspenden también la posibilidad del voto delegado desde el extranjero.

A este respecto, la parte dispositiva s ue del auto diMadn par el Pleno, cuyo texto íntegro conocerà en los próximos dias, establece las siguientes condiciones:

Catalonia: Fascists have been seen making Nazi salutes and clashing with police officers during a protest against the Catalonian independence vote in Barcelona. Hundreds of thousands of people descended on the streets of the Catalan capital on Sunday to take part in a pro-unity rally in favour of the region remaining in Spain.
Far-right protesters also chanted 'Viva Franco' in reference to Spain's former dictator.

"Footage from the predominantly peaceful demonstration showed neo-Nazi protesters draped in Spanish flags raising their right hands in Sieg Hiel salutes reminiscent of pro-Hitler rallies in Nazi Germany. El grup van ser increpats en creuar-se amb la mani espanyolista. Després de ser insultats, un grup de 10 individus va anar cap a ells. Duien roba fosca, caputxes, botes militars, guants reforçats i armes blanques. Estaven preparats per fer mal. Van agafar 2 dels indepes. Un dels ferits va quedar estès a terra, inconscient al mig del Passeig de Gràcia. Segons testimoni els antiavalots de Mossos NO van actuar. Quan un del grup va anar a buscar Mossos que eren a l'altra banda del carrer, sense actuar, li van cridar que apartés el ferit del carrer. El noi demanava ajuda, però segons testimoni la resposta d'antiavalots va ser "es tu amigo y lo quitas tu". El ferit estava inconscient... L'altre ferit estava conscient però no es podia moure, fortes contusions a les costelles i al cap, també talls per arma blanca. Els 2 van ser recollits per ambulància. Un va ser donat d'alta a les 3 de la matinada, l'altre avui a les 14h. El grup d'amics està en xoc. Han definit l'actuació d'antiavalots de totalment vergonyosa. Igual que la dels espanyolistes que justificaven l'agressió un cop feta.

Post Data: els ferits van ser visitats a l'hospital per Mossos de paisà, els quals sí que mostraren total interès/col·laboració amb agredits.

Architect Antoni Gaudí's arrest (1924)


"I was detained for four hours. For two I was locked up in a cell behind bars. By paying fifty pesetas, I was let out. What else can one expect of people like them? They make everything turn to violence: they are out to liquidate this country [Catalonia]. They arrested me arbitrarily and with violence. They insulted me: they told me twice, "Go to hell" and "arsehole" several times. I was asked if I did not know how to speak Spanish and I said yes, but that I did not want to speak it. And I did not want to speak it because all this aggression is against Catalonia, and one of the things that characterizes Catalonia most and Catalans most esteem is the language, which is mine, and I did not want to abandon it in those moments of persecution, for their hatred was because I spoke to them in Catalan ... ".

I hope "Rooth" doesn't mind my reproducing here text here. My only small comments on a very good translation are that (a) the best title would be closer to "Language and the Beasts" and (b) the "Casal Català de Zuric" might better be translated as "The Catalans' Club, Zurich" rather than "homestead".
