At this point in time Catalonia has seven political and two social leaders in prison, having been sentenced to nine to thirteen years after being found guilty in October of various crimes, chiefly that of "sedition", by a deeply politicized Supreme Court that had chosen to ignore Jordi Cuixart's remark in his closing statement at the end of the trial, to the effect that the verdict could be part of the solution (to what is an utterly, profoundly, deeply political conflict) or - another - part of the problem...
