The Supreme Judge readmits judge Santi Vidal four years after his suspension
The judge and ex-senator of ERC was suspended for three years by the CGPJ in 2015 for having taken part in dawing up a Catalan constitution in his spare time. The CGPJ extended the punishment a further year. Here is an English translation (by MS) of the article, with VilaWeb's permission.

33 Catalan judges...
In February 2014 33 Catalan judges published a manifesto defending the legitimacy of Catalonia's right of self-determination. They were subjected to a witch-hunt, took the case to court where it was eventually dismissed.

Santiago Vidal, juge auprès de la Cour supérieure de Justice de
Catalogne, a été suspendu dans ses fonctions par le Conseil général
du Pouvoir judiciaire (CGPJ) espagnol pour avoir participé dans son
temps libre à la rédaction d'un modèle de future Constitution
catalane. À ce sujet, l'historien Antoni Segura a publié cet
article dans le quotidien El
Punt Avui
