Catalonia has been debated in the UK Houses of Parliament many times. Here is one such occasion, in March 1795, when revolutionary France was waging war against Spain (and was to take over the whole of Catalonia).

Col•lectiu 1 d'Octubre [1 FEB 2020]

Comunicat del Col·lectiu Primer d'Octubre sobre la Mesa de Negociació 

Una de les reivindicacions del nostre Col· lectiu quan es va constituir al juny del 2019 va ser la realització d'una consulta a la militància sobre la investidura de Pedro Sànchez.

Finalment es va complir aquesta reivindicació I a finals de novembre de I'any passat els militants d'ERC vam decidir amb un 94,6% de vots rebutjar la investidura de Pedro Sànchez si prèviament no hi havia un acord per abordar el conflicte politic amb I'Estat a través d'una mesa de negociació. 

Finalment els nostres diputats a Madrid es van abstenir, facilitant la investidura de Pedro Sànchez, perquè van obtenir la promesa dels socialistes que la Mesa de negociació es constituiria en el termini de quinze dies. En aquell moment, des del Col· lectiu vam advertir que la decisió era precipitada ja que es va investir el president espanyol sense obtenir prou garanties del compliment dels compromisos. 

Hem constatat com han passat aquests quinze dies promesos I la Mesa ni s'ha constituït ni hi ha data prevista a I'horitzó.

És més, ja han amenaçat de no constituir-la amb la peregrina excusa que a Catalunya hi haurà eleccions aviat, decisió que en darrera instància compet únicament i exclusiva al MHP de la Generalitat i aquest no n'ha fet ús encara. Cal recordar que el Pedro Sànchez mateix ha estat molts mesos ocu pant el seu càrrec en funcions i ningú des de Catalunya I'ha vetat com a interlocutor per aquesta circumstància. 

Veiem amb preocupació I'incompliment de les condicions sobre aquesta Mesa de negociació ja no només pels terminis sinó per la manca de voluntat de la part espanyola d'abordar el conflicte politic, és a dir: reconeixement del dret a I'autodeterminació I fi de la repressió. Per tant, el mandat atorgat per la nostra militància als nostres representants per investir el president espanyol ara per ara no s'està complint. Per aquest motiu demanem que aquests preparin la resposta que han de donar a aquest incompliment i, d'acord amb la nostra Ponència Politica aprovada al desembre, abordin la senda d'exercir el dret a I'autodeterminació sense el "permis" de I'Estat. 

Una segona reivindicació del nostre Col·lectiu quan es vam constituir va ser la cerca de la unitat estratègica dels partits independentistes.

Vam demanar constituir una mesa de diàleg entre tots els actors que tenen representació en institucions fora de Catalunya per tal de consensuar una resposta de pais davant els diferents fòrums on tinguem veu. La inexistència d'aquesta mesa de diàleg a casa nostra que marqui uns minims d'acció conjunta de I'independentisme ha provocat episodis com I'absència de resposta política a la Sentència del Suprem, la divergència del vot a la investidura de Sànchez o el recent episodi de la resposta a la decisió de la JEC feta des del Parlament. 

Insistim en la necessitat de la constitució d'aquesta mesa de diàleg a casa nostra que fugi de gesticulacions i que abordi respostes i actuacions concretes i unitàries.

Finalment, i com a tercera reivindicació, insistim en la necessitat de recuperar I'esperit del mandat de I'1 d'octubre com a única via per avançar cap a la independència i per a eixamplar, de veritat, la base independentista.

Sentencia TSJC - President Torra (19 DEC 2019)

El Tribunal de la sala Civil y Penal del Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Cataluña ha dictado SENTENCIA por la que condena al presidente de la Generalitat, Joaquim Torra i Pla, como autor penalmente responsable de un delito de desobediencia cometido por autoridad o funcionario público, art. 410 del Código Penal.
